Dr. Susan Gleason
Dr. Gleason received her doctoral degree in anthropology in 2001 from the University of California, Riverside. Her speciality was in Archaeology with an emphasis on Paleoethnobotany (the study of plant remains in archaeological sites). In the course of her studies, she took a series of Lithic Technology classes and developed a parallel interest in this field. Following graduation she set up a company, Phoenix Obsidian Designs, dedicated to the development of educational materials for teaching lithic technology in the classroom. She is currently working on developing a similar line of tools for teaching about ethnobotany and paleoethnobotany.
